Ear Candling:
What
is it?
Ear Candles are a clearing therapy
and are used very successfully for many problems associated with the
ears and the head area. Candling provides
the ears with deep cleansing, removing wax and debris build-up that is
normally difficult to reach. It is
non-invasive, gentle and painless, and is recommended
for both children and adults.
Ear Candling was an
ancient remedy used by the Egyptians (originally with reeds), as well
as the Chinese, Greeks and Hopi Indians of North America. Ear Candling
is now widely used in many countries throughout the modern world.
The excessive build-up of earwax, impacted plugs and
candida fungus
can cause hearing problems, infections and discomfort in the ears.
Hearing impairment often creates distress and frustration which in
children can certainly effect their learning ability and speech
development.
The ear candle technique draws out wax, and other impurities, that is
difficult to extract using cotton swabs or fingers. Ear Candling can
also remove heavy, impacted plugs of wax and candida fungus. If people
have candida in their ears, there is often a dull ache inside the ears
that comes and goes.
What does it do?
The process involves the use of
a hollow candle with the narrow end held gently in the outer edge of the ear.
The flame creates a relative vacuum in the ear which draws out poisons, old
wax, debris and residues of past infection and fungus. It will also
pull out fluid from the inner ear, painlessly - right through the
membrane of the inner ear. The ceruminous glands of the ear are constantly
secreting wax and candida grows prolifically in the ear because it is a dark,
moist area - a perfect place for mold to grow.
After candling the ears, a special blend of herbal oils may be added to protect
the recurrence of yeast overgrowth. The inside of the ear has a lot of
crevices where material can build up and the ear debris accumulates and impacts
over the years.
How does it work?
The healing properties of Ear Candling has its foundation in two (2) primary
physical actions:
First, the slight under pressure (the chimney effect) inside the Ear Candle and
the vibration of the rising air column serve to gently massage the ear drum and
promote secretion in the frontal and paranasal sinuses. This has an immediate
subjective effect of regulating and balancing ear pressure. Users often describe
a soothing, light sensation in the ear and head area.
Second, locally administered heat stimulates the peripheral blood circulation,
thus intensifying the immunological defense system, in addition to strengthening
the cleansing circulation of the lymph glands.
During the procedure, you will hear a slight crackling sound as the impacted wax
and debris is gently vacuumed out.
Can it help me?
Ear candles are soothing, helpful and an excellent alternative therapy for:
Fungal and Yeast problems
Excessive wax build up
Sinus irritation/sinusitis
Removing toxic residue from medications
Glue Ear
Swimmers Ear
Vertigo & balance problems
T.M.J. and jaw pain
Clenching of the teeth
Headaches
Ear aches
Ringing in the ears
Foggy head
Balancing ear pressure, before or after a flight
Anxiety/nervousness
Other stress-related problems
Ear Candling
is a painless, non-invasive therapy and gentle enough to be used
on both adults and children. Ear Candling is available by
appointment for clients and their families, following a brief
assessment. While treating both ears is recommended, candling only
the problem ear is still quite effective.
An Ear Candling session takes
approximately 45 minutes per ear.
The
effect after an Ear Candling session is a soothing, pressure and
pain relieving sensation, mainly in the ear and head regions. Most
people are amazed at all the material that comes out of their
ears.
Clearer
nasal breathing and an improved sense of smell (even when the nose
was blocked previously) are often
experienced. Again, Ear Candles pull fluid from the inner ears and
this can help with some types of associated dizziness, Vertigo
and ringing in the ears. It has also been used for people
with sinus problems to correct the pressure in the skull,
as mucous can back up in the eustachian tubes that run between the
nose and the inner ear. Many people with hearing problems
have been amazed at the dramatic increase in auditory sensitivity
after ear candling.
Generally, a wonderful, relaxed feeling of happiness accompanies a
deep sense of relief following a session.

Please note: In case of ear infection or suspected ear
infection, it is recommended that medical advice be sought. Once
infection has been medically treated and is clear, than ear
candling can be performed. Regular application of ear candling may
assist in the prevention of further infections.
